General Bindery Operator 2nd Shift

Job Summary

Oversee various pieces of equipment involved in the finishing process; including, the set up and operation of power and manually operated bindery machines for gathering, stitching, folding, laminating, cutting, stapling, drilling, punching, padding, collating, painting and binding materials.

Overview of Responsibilities  

  • General working knowledge in the following areas:

    • Scoring / Perforating Machines

    • Cutters

    • Lamination

    • Folders

    • Booklet Makers

    • Die Cutters

  • Examine finished product for defects.

  • Package materials for shipping or pickup.

  • Trim edges of bound material.

  • Perform repairs and preventative maintenance on bindery machines; including, cleaning, adjusting, and oiling.

  Key Competencies

  • Three years bindery experience required.

  • Expertise in lamination, folding, cutting, scoring, perforation, saddle stitch, round corner, etc.

  • Must be able to lift up to 60 pounds.

  • Must keep things running to meet deadlines.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Detail oriented and deadline driven.

  • Reliability and dependability.

  • Consistent positive attitude.

  • Organizing and planning.

  • Stress tolerance and basic troubleshooting skills.

  • Flexibility in working overtime.
